IT之家 3 月 22 日消息，据路透社报道，英国竞争监管机构今日表示，正在考虑是否将美国芯片制造商博通 610 亿美元（IT之家注：当前约 4190.7 亿元人民币）收购 VMware 的交易提交调查，因为该交易可能会损害竞争。
英国竞争与市场管理局（CMA）指出，这笔交易可能会使英国企业的计算机服务器成本更高。
CMA 执行董事 David Stewart 表示：“服务器是一个重要的组成部分，其运行很大程度上要归功于博通等公司制造的硬件产品，以及 VMware 等公司的虚拟化软件的协同工作。”
“我们担心，这笔交易可能会让博通在服务器市场的硬件组件供应上淘汰竞争对手，并导致创新减少，而大多数公司都想要快速、响应迅速、价格合理的 IT 系统。”
该监管机构表示，博通现在有 5 天时间提出具有法律约束力的提案以解决其担忧，之后将在 5 天内决定是否对该交易进行深入调查。
