知名导演 Quentin Tarantino 近日向《ara》透露，他已经做好不再拍电影的准备。从不避讳谈论退休计划的 Quentin Tarantino 一直以来都对外表示「拍完十部电影就收手」，三月时更公开第十部，也就是最终作品《The Movie Critic》将是一部描述影评人的故事，他表示传奇女影评人 Pauline Kael 不只启发他 2022 年书作《Cinema Speculation》，也在一定程度上影响了《The Movie Critic》，说道：「是的，她是风景的一部分，故事发生在 Pauline Kael 存在且被提及的世界，但主要故事并不是关于她。」
当问及结束生涯的契机时，Quentin Tarantino 简单地回答：「就只是我拍了 30 年电影，我准备好退出了。」同时，他坦言想要写更多的书：「我想着手进行《Cinema Speculation》续集，谈论 70 年代、80 年代的电影，我青春期时代的电影，也会谈论美国以外的电影。」「影院的未来是一个未知数，我只是希望我的书能够提醒人们去看电影是一件多么美妙的事。」有兴趣的读者不妨多加留意。
