在2019年，育碧因为不满 Steam 的抽成以及 Epic 提供的各类好处而选择离开，甚至还公开宣称 Steam 的后端服务“过时”。正如放出狠话却重返 Steam 的其他公司一样，育碧自2021年开始放低姿态并于2022年正式回归。话虽如此，育碧尚未正式放弃此前的策略。据悉，《刺客信条：幻影》不会在 Steam 同步发售。
