一位小米印度员工在接受媒体时透露，目前公司员工数量已从1400人至1500人减少到约1000人。过去一周内公司就解雇了约30名员工，未来几个月可能会有更多人被裁。
小米印度方面回应称：“与任何公司一样，我们会根据市场状况和业务预测做出员工数量的规划。除了根据所需要的进行优化外，我们还继续在需要的时间和地点招聘职位。本着构建一个可持续发展的团队目标，我们确保一年两次的绩效管理流程能够奖励表现最好的员工，同时也确保表现最差的员工在合理的时间内获得改进的机会，也并不排除对无法满足要求的员工进行合理优化。”
