《药师少女的独语》原作为日向夏创作的轻小说，作品背景设置在架空大陆的某个大国，主角是原本在花街给医生养父帮忙的药师少女猫猫。在被人卖至后宫作为下级女官之后，她开始调查宫中的各种事件……
