7月11日消息，对于富士康来说，其已经放弃规模为195亿美元的印度芯片工厂计划，至于原因没法细说。
富士康对外公告称，不再推进与Vedanta的195亿美元半导体工厂建厂行动。双方共同努力了超过一年时间，以期实现在印度建立芯片工厂，但一致决定终止这个计划。
富士康将移除在合资公司的名称，该合资公司现在由Vedanta完全所有。Vedanta和印度信息部对此不予置评。
印度曾要求Vedanta-富士康芯片合资企业重新申请奖励，因为原计划生产28nm芯片的计划发生了变化。
今年5月份，印度方面曾放言，在未来4到5年内，印度将成为世界上最大的半导体制造基地。
在半导体领域，印度当地在芯片设计领域取得了一定的成绩，AMD、intel及NVIDIA等公司都在当地成立了设计中心，锐龙处理器的Zen系列架构就有印度班加罗尔、海得拉巴等地AMD公司参与。
