Swift 重录所有专辑的起因是她与前经纪人 Scooter Braun 的隔阂，她于 2018 年离开 Big Machine Records，从而导致她全部歌曲和专辑的版权归 Braun 所有。重录专辑可使现已是独立音乐家的她在拥有版权的同时也可以擅自发挥创意，并对原曲做出改变。
